An examination of the discourses of culture, racism and ethnic relationships in secondary education settings in Aotearoa/New Zealand. The paper will explore current research findings in first and second language acquisition. It will involve identification of ethnic diversity in communities, schools and related educational needs, and critique teaching strategies and programmes which promote cultural and linguistic diversity.
