This paper introduces the student to the fundamental principles, practices and policy-related issues in the emerging field of marine biosecurity. This will encompass providing students with an overview of invasion ecology, invasion processes, the social dimensions of biosecurity, pre- and post-border management, the fundamentals of risk, and international contexts.
