According to the dominant conception of God in Western philosophy of religion, God is a person (without a body) who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent (morally perfect), and who creates and sustains all (else) that exists. This course explores a range of problems with this 'personal-omniGod' conception. For example, does petitionary prayer make any sense? Is being all-powerful compatible with perfect moral goodness? What's the relationship between God and morality? If God (fore)knows our future actions, can we be free? Could hell exist if God exists? Are miracles possible? Did the resurrection of Jesus really happen?
