This paper will introduce students to the nature of environmental planning and provide them with the knowledge and analytical skills they will need to understand the complex relationships between land, resources, and decision making in New Zealand and abroad. It will include discussions of contemporary issues such as climate change, housing, sustainability, and transport and link these to environmental planning and policy-making.
