Te Puna Aurei LearnFest is a biannual online symposium organised by Te Puna Ako - Centre for Tertiary Teaching and Learning (CeTTL) at the University of Waikato.

The LearnFest volumes

In alternate years to the online LearnFest symposium we will now publish an edited collection, including both presentations from the previous year and other submissions on the related topic(s) of that LearnFest

Our first volume Revitalising Higher Education, published in partnership with the University of Cardiff, has now been released and is available in an open access format through Cardiff University Press.

For 2024 we are inviting submissions for our edited collection focused on the 2023 symposium’s key theme of Education Without Boundaries

This proposed volume will be edited and published through as part of the ongoing partnership between The University of Waikato and The University of Newcastle, Australia.

Submit you abstract before Sunday 15th September 2024

We would also like to extend this invitation to participants in LearnFest 2023, or any other prospective authors who may wish to submit a chapter proposal which broadly fits the theme.

However, we interpret this theme liberally, to incorporate all aspects of inclusion and accessibility. Topics of interest for this edited collection can include, but are not limited to:

• student retention, support, experience or empowerment

• equitable access, opportunities and diversity

• innovative teaching practices and pedagogies around inclusion

• flexible modes of delivery

• physical and virtual learning spaces

• generative AI in higher education and its intersection with the above topics.

Proposals should be abstracts of no more than 300 words that include a brief overview of the proposed chapter and a description of the main arguments or themes that will be addressed.
