Getting started with Studiosity
This free online service provides feedback on your assignments from University-approved AI study support. Get help with grammar, structure, sources, clarity to improve your academic writing.
What is Studiosity?
Studiosity is a free online external study support service available 24/7 for all students at Waikato University. It provides students with access to University of Waikato-approved AI study support, offering guidance and feedback to enhance academic writing skills.
You can have unlimited submissions. There is a maximum word count of 8,000 words per submission and file size must be under 4 MB. If you have questions about the feedback you receive, you can follow up with our Student Learning advisors.
How can Studiosity help me?
Studiosity can help you when you’re stuck, or need some guidance in the right direction. It can really help with increasing your confidence with your study and writing, too; 92% of students say they feel more confident after using Studiosity. It’s all online, and on-demand so you can get support when and where it suits you.
How to access Studiosity?
You need your University of Waikato username and a password of your choice to log into Studiosity. You can access Studiosity in the following ways:
- Jump directly to Studiosity
- Access Studiosity through any of your Moodle papers.
Here are some important steps to access Studiosity:
- Select the Studiosity writing support link to access your account.

Note: For the first time, you need to set up your profile (Year Level, Division/School & Study Location).
- The dashboard will appear like this:
- In the Writing Feeback box, select Upload now for the assignment you need to receive written feedback on.
- The page to submit your document looks like the image below. Click on browse files to upload. You'll have just three simple and quick questions to fill out before hitting the Upload for review button.
Note:

- Until each field has a green tick next to it, the Upload for review button won't work.
- Studiosity supports doc, docx, odt, txt or rtf files with a maximum word count of 8,000 words and file sizes under 4 MB.
- After uploading your documents, the system will generate the feedback taking a few minutes. Don't click on Go back to dashboard before the process is complete.
- When your submission analysis is complete, a 'Disclaimer' pop-up window will appear. Tick the checkbox next to I have read the above disclaimer and agree to it, then click Continue to my reviewed document.

You can access Studiosity by logging in to Moodle. Then look for the link under the Introduction section of the papers you are enrolled in at the university.
You can also jump directly to Studiosity
No. Studiosity's AI will not teach you any course content specific to a paper. The help it can provide is with improving your academic literacy, writing structure, referencing, numeracy, core concepts, and facilitating independent, critical thinking. Please refer any questions about course content back to your lecturer or tutor or book a consultation with Student Learning.
Yes, you can download the Studiosity app from the Google Play store (Android) or the App Store (iOS). To activate the app, log in to Studiosity via Moodle, as you normally would. In the Studiosity student dashboard, create a pin code. Enter your pin code into the mobile app and your account will be linked – then you're good to go!
