Marking
Help pages for staff on how to grade assessments.
All marks need to be entered into Moodle, for all assessed items. This allows marks to be correctly transferred to MyWaikato, where students will view their final grades.
There are several methods available in Moodle. Choose the one that best suits your assessment and feedback preferences.
Note:
- Use IC (incomplete) for unattempted, compulsory assessments only.
- If your Gradebook isn't adding up correctly, check the maximum mark for each assessment, which is set to 100 by default.
Assignments submitted via Moodle
Quick Grading allows marks and comments to be inserted directly from the View all submissions page.
Standard Grading, which is accessed through the red Grade button, allows you to attach feedback comments and files.
Feedback Studio is the most comprehensive grading and feedback method: various types of feedback (QuickMarks, written, or voice recorded), rubrics, and marking forms can be used. We recommend this option for marking online.
Offline Grading Worksheet is a spreadsheet that can be downloaded from Moodle. Marks can be entered into the spreadsheet, then uploaded to Moodle.
Assignments not submitted via Moodle
