A pōwhiri is a Māori welcome ceremony with traditional protocols. All new students are required to attend.

A pōwhiri is a welcome ceremony conducted in accordance with tikanga Māori (Māori protocols and customs). The pōwhiri contains multiple interlocking riturals for both men and women.
