Project Management – The Basic Principles

Effective project management executes and delivers positive change in an organisation. To do this involves technical skills, such as critical path analysis and Gantt charting, as well as good people skills, such as motivating, influencing and managing intergroup conflict.
This course introduces the basic principles and processes of project management, as well as the recognition, assessment and mitigation of risk within projects. It also touches on critical people and cultural issues that are implicit in the management of projects.
Please note that this course is delivered in-person on campus (face-to-face) and is not available as an online option.

With over 30 years' experience as a project manager, Michael Hamid is currently the Professional Services Manager at Company-X.
An exceptional project manager, mentor and communicator, Michael's specialities focus on new product development, program management, project management, and software development.
He managed a team of five project managers as Research & Development Executive at Gallagher Group, and was also the PMO Manager and Programme Manager at LIC. He managed a number of projects over a 10-year career at New Zealand Dairy Group.
Michael holds an MBA degree from the University of Waikato, where he has been teaching project management papers since 2014.
