When it was time to leave high school, it was the University of Waikato's strong reputation and successful alumni that helped Katie's choice to study a Bachelor of Music at Waikato. She says, "I also like that the University is young and forward-thinking."
One of the highlights of her time at Waikato was when she took part in and won the Dame Malvina Major Foundation University of Waikato Aria Competition. "It was a really overwhelming and mind-blowing experience."
Katie's experience of life on campus was positive. "Everything is on one beautiful campus," she says. "I also like that there is direct communication between the lecturers and the students. I feel like I can email or talk to a lecturer if I need help or have a question."
