PhD research, 2010—2019
Fahim Rahim is currently completing a PhD in Mathematics at the University of Waikato. His thesis involves looking at Latin squares and frequency squares and trying to answer questions about them.
Fahim came to Waikato after completing his Masters degree (with distinction) at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan where he was awarded the Chancellor's and Vice Chancellor's medals for coming first in his faculty.
After a stint as a lecturer, he later won a scholarship to pursue a PhD abroad and chose Waikato.
I really like the structure of the PhD programme at the University of Waikato, where you can start research from the very first day. Also, the staff are very helpful and welcoming and the library and student support services are excellent.
"The beauty of the campus, the loving people of New Zealand and the diversity of culture make studying here an amazing and unforgettable experience."
"When I will go back to my country and resume my job, the exposure and the things I am learning here will help me to become a good researcher and more importantly a better teacher."
