About the TM4000 tabletop Microscope
TM4000 shows all ages and fields of interest that our surroundings are more than what we can see naturally. Taking a sample of interest and viewing it from a different perspective opens up a whole new world of possibilities. When we examine and wonder about our world more deeply, putting discovered objects into a scanning electron feeds our natural curiosity, sparks further inquiry, and enriches the learning experience while stimulating our interest in STEM.
Utilize our Hitachi TM4000 scanning electron microscope for a transformative day of learning!
To prepare you for this day, we offer a short training workshop for teachers to become fully equipped to operate the Hitachi TM4000 scanning electron microscope in their classrooms. This training covers sample preparation, sample exchange and instrument operation. Teachers can then spend time thinking about how they would like to incorporate the electron microscope into their lesson plans and organize the session with their class. Training can be completed at our University of Waikato campus in Hamilton or the day before your booking on site at the school.
We are available to deliver the electron microscope on site at your school the day before your booking and will come collect the device at the end of the following day. Once the electron microscope is set up, it cannot be moved, so you will want to use a dynamic and secure space for teaching on the day.
Please note. We can only offer this service to schools within a 150km radius of the University of Waikato, Hamilton campus.
