The Master of Media and Creative Technologies (MMCT) allows you to further your knowledge and skills in Screen and Media Studies, offered under the Te Kura Toi/School of Arts, School of Social Sciences, School of Design, and Waikato Management School. Alongside taught papers, you will work with our internationally-renowned media academic staff where, under their supervision, you will develop a portfolio of audio-visual projects. Areas you can explore include are, but not limited to: short film, documentary, animation, photography, AI, VR, scriptwriting, online content, podcasts, multimedia installations. Effectively, students take a lead in their learning, developing and producing creative works that showcase their distinctive voice ready for public exhibition and employment in numerous media-related fields.
Study under the MMCT will give you extensive collaborative project experience which is supported by technical expertise and advanced creative skills. You will also benefit from substantial grounding in postgraduate academic practice and the deployment of critical and methodological skills in original research.

International Television New Zealand, Kirikiriroa-Hamilton City Council, and Waikato Regional Council. Admission requires a relevant Bachelors level qualification or equivalent. Once you have applied to study with us you are welcome to speak with one of our senior academics who will help advise you on your studies based on your goals and previous experience. This will ensure you have all the support and advice you need to succeed in your studies.
