Students will typically have completed the requirements of the first and second level paper offerings (240 pts with 120 above 1st-year) prior to enrolling in this paper.

This paper fulfils The University of Waikato's requirement for all students to engage with the wider community in a work-related or applied project setting. This paper provides opportunities for professional and personal development within varied work settings relevant to the field of Psychology.

A limited number of placements may be arranged by the School of Psychology. Students are welcome to source their own placements, but these must be approved by the School. Please see the 'Pre-requisites' section for further information.

Enrolment will be by application to the School of Psychology, no later than the last Friday in April. Enrolments will be restricted due to the limited number of placements available, suitability of placements suggested by students both in terms of relevance to the discipline and providing a meaningful experience for students, written agreement from the workplace and capacity for staff supervision. It is likely that safety vetting will be required in some cases.
