This paper examines educational uses of digital technologies, with an emphasis on learning through electronic networks. Global collaboration and educational and personal implications are explored. Students are encouraged to experiment with social media, to cultivate a professional online presence and learning network, to critically evaluate internet resources and to create content. The paper explores learning theories, policy and topical issues alongside practical perspectives related to education across sectors and age groups through the lifespan, inclusive of formal and informal learning. Importantly, students are invited to research, contextualise and incorporate their own experiences through a range of choices designed for wide appeal.
