This paper is a multi-disciplinary focused paper providing students with the opportunity to understand a Māori worldview through the lens of Māori fibre arts praxis. MĀORI251 is an introduction to raranga whakairo, the theoretical and practical application of patterns within the weave. Students learn to raranga and critically examine customary/traditional techniques in modern day applications.
