A survey of New Zealand's current regime of Animal Law, including related to animal production, welfare, use in/as sport, research, control, trade and conservation. The survey will consider the ideological and economic context of the current regime of Animal Law, with an assessment of its effectiveness in attaining its goals. The paper considers New Zealand Animal Law in the context of history of thought up to the present day, about human/animal relations and the international context for future developments of animal law, which will impact New Zealand's trade and tourism sectors.
