Traditionally, management and leadership have been viewed as two different roles with different sets of behaviours. However, there is now the acceptance that these roles are difficult to separate from what is traditionally considered as 'leadership'. Management and Accountability is bi-directional. It involves managers setting and managing expectations of their direct reports, as well as direct reports' expectation of their managers. Participants who successfully complete this paper will be able to develop competencies for effective self-management as well as management of their direct reports.
