This paper will cover many of the common laboratory techniques used in molecular biology. These will include microbiological methods, bioinformatics, and molecular methods such as analysis of gene expression, DNA technologies used to produce genetically modified organisms and recombinant proteins. Emphasis is on the practical application of such techniques so that students gain confidence and experience with molecular techniques.
