The overall aim of this paper is to develop practical second/foreign language teaching skills, techniques for evaluating language teaching practice and self-assessment of language teaching skills, as they relate to the second language lesson and to become familiar with the design and evaluation processes of a series of related language lessons making up a 'course'. The emphasis in this course will be on further development of teaching skills and materials design, and on the preparation and delivery of a linked series of purposeful and focused lessons for the free students who are taught by the trainees. The focus in this course is on preparation of teachers to prepare students for the IELTS examination and in addition, for the process of academic language skills.
