This paper provides students with foundational knowledge and skills to succeed in tertiary study. The paper encourages students to consider the notion of the university and their role and responsibilities as students. Students will be encouraged to develop as reflective, critical, aware and well-informed members of the university and their disciplinary community. The paper provides opportunities for students to develop an understanding of ways of thinking, reading, analysing and writing text across different subjects or disciplines in the university; and to develop skills such as time management, self-motivation and goal setting.
