University of Waikato Rugby Club
Founded in 1961, the University of Waikato Rugby Club (UWRC) has a 50-year tradition of providing the best platform for talented rugby players to reach higher honours and to provide members with team experiences they can cherish for life.
Whether you want to socialise and have fun or play competitively at an elite level, students at the University of Waikato can reach their full potential by playing for UWRC. Based on campus at the Don Llewellyn Sports Pavilion, UWRC is the rugby club of choice for students in the Waikato. With four men's rugby teams ranging from Premier level through to social and one women's team, the club caters for players of all abilities.
The club fosters inclusiveness with past players remaining linked with the sport through the Varstonians and the opportunity to provide for students not only as players but as managers, coaches and administrators.
