The Waikato Public Law and Policy Research Unit would like to invite you to an online presentation by Mr Philip Morgan KC on the topic of "Section 27 of Sentencing Act 2002 for the Legally Aided Defendant and the Wider Implications of Cultural Background for Litigants Generally”

Philip Morgan KC was admitted to the bar in 1977. He practiced for three years in Palmerston North in general practice including litigation, then had two years working for a firm of solicitors in London, almost exclusively acting for defendants in criminal matters.

On his return to New Zealand, he was employed by the Crown Solicitor in Auckland and later the Crown Solicitor in Hamilton. He became a partner of the Crown Solicitor’s firm in Hamilton, until he went to the independent bar in 1998. Over this period his primary field of work was criminal prosecutions.

In 2003 he was appointed to Silk. His fields of practice are primarily civil and criminal litigation.
