Study Abroad tuition fees
Study abroad students pay a flat fee that includes student fees, airport pick-up, official transcript, and tuition for papers to a maximum of 60 credit points (per trimester). The study abroad fee does not include accommodation, field trips, textbooks, or other costs.

Note: The study abroad fee is a fixed cost per trimester.
Students can study with us for one (1) or two (2) trimesters – the fee for two trimesters is double that of one trimester.
The Study Abroad Fee includes:
- Tuition
- Student Services Levy
- Transcript
- Airport pick-up – from Auckland International Airport or Hamilton Airport.
The Study Abroad Fee does not include:
- Accommodation
- Field trips
- Textbooks
- Other costs
Exchange students
If you're an exchange student, you pay tuition to your home university. No tuition fees will be paid to the University of Waikato. You will still need to pay for your accommodation, field trips, textbooks, and other costs.

Insurance
All study abroad and exchange students are required by New Zealand law to purchase student health insurance.

Other costs
The cost of studying abroad may seem daunting to begin with, however, we encourage you to add up your normal expenses as if you were to study at home when making comparisons of costs.
