This exhibition traces the milestones across the University’s 60 years through the lens of the special collections held by Te Whare Pukapuka | The University of Waikato Library, from art to archives, taonga to cartography.

The display will traverse all gallery spaces in the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts sharing our story as an institution through our collections which include Mātangireia, archives, manuscripts, cartography, and art. A timeline will link the gallery spaces, tracing the decades of our institution and illuminating our people and place within Aotearoa New Zealand and on the world stage at each point of the journey.

‘Huakina te pātaka mahara’ refers to opening the storehouse of memories which encapsulates the wairua of this exhibition.
