Acclaimed guitarist and composer Callum Allardice embarks on North Island tour to present exciting new album.

A three-time winner of the APRA Composition Competition and recipient of the Recorded Music NZ Te Kaipuoro Tautito Toa | Best Jazz Music Artist award with his group The Jac, Callum needs no introduction.

This tour celebrates his latest quartet album, “Elementa,” a compelling follow-up to his acclaimed album for jazz orchestra and strings, “Cinematic Light Orchestra,” both recorded during his composer residency at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music. Drawing influences from Blonde Redhead, Brian Blade, and Terrence Blanchard, the new album is imbued with moody cinematic drama and features folksy, song-like melodies set over rich, sweeping harmony.

Joining Callum are long-time collaborators pianist Luke Sweeting (Sydney), double bassist Thomas Botting (Sydney), and Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington) rounding out the quartet on drums. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this dynamic and interactive group join forces from across the Tasman!
