2025 Experiences
An immersive programme dedicated to Technologies, Management and Innovation. Develop your knowledge and understanding of Disruptive Technologies and their influence on Modern Management with KEDGE Business School.
Programme Details
This programme will run for two weeks (13 - 24 January 2025) in Paris, France.
This course offers:
- 2 courses, each carrying 4 ECTS (24 contact hours)
- Each course is an intensive, 1-week module
- A Business Visit or business talk related to the content of the course
- A guided tour of Paris
- 1 Welcome coffee and 1 Dinner
- Official Transcripts and a Certificate
All courses will be taught in English.

This is a short-term exchange opportunity for Waikato students.

Students have the opportunity to take part in a two-week online programme through WHU Otto Beishem School of Management in January 2025. This programme is designed for undergraduate students who want to learn more about the international business world in Europe.
Being among Europe’s top-ranked business schools, WHU provides you with a unique learning experience. You will have the opportunity to attend interactive live class meetings and work together with students from different locations via virtual breakout sessions.
Note: This programme incurs a fee of €125.00 Euros

Yonsei University, located at the heart of Seoul, South Korea, provides easy access to a wealth of traditional Korean cultural experiences. Within close proximity to campus, students can delve into the rich heritage of the Joseon Dynasty through visits to historical sites such as Deoksugung, Changdeokgung, and Gyeongbokgung, each offering insights into Korea’s 500-year history. Surrounding Yonsei’s campus, Sinchon buzzes with vibrant youth culture, featuring lively dancing and busking performances, where students can experience contemporary Korean youth culture firsthand.
Programme Details
This programme will run for 3 weeks (27 December 2024 - 17 January 2025) at Yonsei University's Sinchon campus in South Korea.
This programme offers courses in the following areas:
- Korean language
- Korean studies
- Science and Technology
- Social sciences
- East Asian studies
- Economics and management
Each course is worth 3 credits. Students can take up to 3 courses (9 credits). You may be able to transfer credit back to Waikato - please contact your Divisional Student Advisors for more information.
The programme also offers thrilling one-day excursions to students, including:
- A tour of the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea
- Skiing at one of South Korea's top Ski resorts
- Taekwondo classes
- Korean cooking classes - learn to prepare traditional Korean dishes such as tteokbokki, rice cakes, bulgogi, and more!

Sustainable Development through Collaboration, in partnership with the Fijian Government.
It’s no secret that employers hugely value ‘soft skills,’ global understanding and practical work experience. Through this programme, you’ll develop all three whilst we facilitate the same self-developing experience for young Fijians in rural communities. This project is for enthusiastic individuals who want to step out of their comfort zone, experience true cultural immersion and develop their skills, whilst exploring and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The result is one of the most rewarding and extraordinary experiences of your life.
Programme Details
This 16-day programme takes place from 21 June to 6 July (during the break between A & B trimesters) in 2025.
There are two parts to this programme:
- Morning Workshops
- The Culture Course
In the Morning Workshops, students will take part in activities and work alongside Fijians aged 18-35 enrolled in local youth groups. These sessions are active, fun and engaging and crucially open up a cross-cultural discussion across a range of subjects.
As the name suggests, these sessions take place in the mornings of your project weekdays and are facilitated in small groups of international participants and Fijian youth, taking turns to lead discussions and activities.
The Culture Course celebrates the indigenous Fijian lifestyle. You will be on the receiving end of an initiative in partnership with the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs (Arts, Heritage and Culture). You will learn about Fiji’s culture from those who know it best, the youth in your village, as they deliver an interactive cultural education course that boosts their own skills and cultural competency. Appreciating and celebrating traditional Fijian lifestyle specific to each village.

Cost
This programme is not funded; students will be required to pay the following:
- Registration Fee: $345 AUD (approx. $380 NZD*)
- Project Fee: $2550 AUD (approx. $2,800 NZD*)
*Note: all NZD costs are an approximation only. Exchange rates fluctuate so the actual NZD cost at the time of the programme may change.
In addition to the Registration and Project Fees, students should also expect to pay for:
- Flights
- Travel Insurance
- Spending money for extra food and snacks, Fijian clothes, and items of a personal nature.

2025 experiences
Waikato ki Roto, Waikato ki Waho: Ngā Tauira Māori o Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato ki Colombia - 4 Week Programme (26 Jan - 23 Feb)
Do you want to experience the rich culture of Latin America?
Want to understand what it truly means to be a Global Citizen from an Indigenous lens, while being able to connect with other Indigenous communities on their own whenua?
About the Programme
Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato has a unique opportunity that allows up to 8 Māori students to create meaningful connections with other Indigenous communities in Colombia, kānohi ki te kānohi. During this exciting 4 week programme, tauira will be able to explore different areas of Indigenous development both significant to Māori and Indigenous nations in Colombia, including reo me ōna tikanga (language & culture), tōrangapū (politics), pakihi (business), mātauranga (education) and te taiao (environment).
Tauira will be able to visit and go beyond the capital of Bogotá to gain a holistic understanding of Indigenous culture and life across the region. Additionally, tauira will work on and present a group project that brings together Māori and Colombia Indigenous values and aspirations, on mutually significant challenges. This combination of knowledge between Māori and Indigenous peoples in Colombia will uncover new approaches to creating intergenerational wealth and health, for both peoples.
Key elements of the programme also include:
- A robust orientation that prepares tauira for the trip and values whakawhanaungatanga with other participants and traveling staff.
- Introductory language and culture lessons.
- Project presentations in Colombia and New Zealand to share key findings and experiences.
- Regular check-ins with the project team.
Eligibility

Be in your second year or above year of undergraduate degree or higher qualification in 2024;
