University of Waikato Herbarium
Established in 1972, our internationally recognized herbarium contains a collection maintained to document the flora of New Zealand; to provide material for systematic, biodiversity, biosecurity and ecological research. Waikato Herbarium (WAIK) operates a loan and exchange programme that sends and receives herbarium specimens to other recognized herbaria in New Zealand and internationally.
